About

Peter Kozlovič, B.Sc. Computer science, M.Sc. Kinesiology. I'm a former road cyclist and a person with type 1 diabetes. I studied at the University of Primorska. I have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and a master's degree in Kinesiology. In my final thesis, I researched the mechanisms for the occurrence of injuries in the knee joint during cycling. In a three-dimensional space, I developed a reliable model for calculating forces and torques in the joints of the lower extrimity during cycling. After completing my studies, I got a job at the Public Health Center in Koper as an information system administrator. In my free time, I do cycling, running, hiking and skiing.

Expirience

Health center Koper

Information system administrator

At the institution, I take care of the operation of critical systems on virtual servers, VoIP telephony and the networking. Servers are based on Windows and Linux operating systems. With the Veeam Backup&Replication software, I take care of the continuous operation of the systems at the DR location. Moreover, I actively participate in the implementation and maintenance of the ISO 27001 standard.

ŠIPK - Workplace health promotion for Slovenian police officers

On the project, I was responsible for developing a mobile application for Android phones. The application was developed with the aim of promoting a healthy lifestyle of police officers during work and in their free time.

Education

FVZ - University of Primorska

Sept 2018 - Jul 2022

Master of Kinesiology

By studying kinesiology, I gained knowledge in the field of statistics, biomechanics and script programming in Matlab with the aim of implementing biomechanical models. Moreover, during study I was focused on injury prevention during cycling

FAMNIT - University of Primorska

Sept 2014 - Jul 2018

B.Sc. in Computer Science

During studies, I gained knowledge in the field of programming, system administration, network configuration, databases and developing information systems.

Case study: effects of crank length on biomechanical characteristics during cycling

In the case study, we looked for the influence of the crank arm length on the biomechanics of cycling under different loads. We were interested in the influence of the crank arm length on the efficiency of cycling and the potential biomechanical properties of cycling on the occurrence of overuse injuries in the lower extremities joint.

3D Knee Loading during Stationary Cycling: A Comprehensive Model Development and Reliability Analysis

The main purpose of this study was to develop and validate a 3D model for calculating knee joint loads during seated cycling. A 3D inverse dynamics approach was used to calculate knee and ankle joint loads using kinematics and kinetics data. For such a model, four kinematics clusters and three pedal markers were used, integrated with a 6-component force/torque pedal dynamometer. Further analyses are required to validate the model between days and to test the sensitivity to mechanical constraints.

ŠIPK - Workplace health promotion for Slovenian police officers

The mobile application was developed with the aim of promoting a healthy lifestyle of police officers both at work and in their free time. The application displays activities in the form of notifications which appear at a specific time based on their schedule. The activities include recommendations regarding physical activity, ergonomics, nutrition, day and night work, and stress. Physical activity mainly includes active rest, with an emphasis on strengthening and stretching exercises. When it comes to nutrition, the emphasis is on a sufficient amount of liquid and food, while in the case of day and night work and stress, the emphasis is on organizing the day, sufficient amount of sleep and suggestions for relaxation.
